3 Reasons Adopting a Dog Is Right for You!

At Furbo, our #1 mission is to keep every dog healthy and happy, wherever you may find your pup! There are many reasons to rescue a dog instead of buying from a pet store, which we want to highlight for any potential pawrents out there.

#1: You’ll get a wonderful dog.

A lot of people worry that rescues are vicious, but this is an unfounded reputation. Actually, hybrid dogs can often have better temperaments, since they aren’t prey to the inbreeding that some breeders may practice. And you still might find a great purebred at your local shelter, if your heart is set!

#2: You save money.

By the time the dog gets to you, it has usually already been spayed or neutered, and might even be microchipped. If it’s older, it’s also usually housebroken, saving you lots of time and possible expense on training. Which leaves more money for you to spend on dog treats!

#3: You’ll save a life.

Each year, around 670,000 shelter dogs in the U.S. are put to sleep. So when you adopt a dog from a shelter, you’re not just giving them a good home - you’re saving them from euthanasia.

If you’re ready to adopt, check out the pups below; we’re collaborating with the Humane Society of Charlotte (along with other organizations) to help rehome 1,001 dogs by the end of the year!

Bruno is an easy-going, fun-loving guy!  He is super friendly with people and loves to get up on the sofa, cuddle up and have some belly rubs!  He knows come, sit and down…he’s a smarty pants!  Bruno enjoys a good game of fetch too!  He has met other dogs and does best interacting with calmer dogs.

Big Boy:

3 years old

American Pit Bull Terrier

58#

I like to go, go, go! An active household where there are adventures and activities to be had will be the best life for me. If you lead an active life, I’d be an exceptional co-pilot. Consider taking me on your next big adventure!

I will do best in a home without young children.

At HSC, one of my favorite activities are the canine playgroups!  During playgroup staff and volunteers say I’m a lot of fun.  I romp, wrestle, chase, and interact with the other dogs waiting to be adopted.  I’d do well in your home with just you or with you and your resident canine companion.

If you are interested in adopting me, find my profile at www.petango.com/HSC and fill out the adoption questionnaire to get started! An adoption counselor will reach out to you with more information and to set up a time for adoption.
